Definition

Boating adalah bagian dari rekreasi pantai yang sangat menyenangkan, ada banyak kegiatan yang dapat anda coba untuk meluangkan waktu dengan keluarga anda, apabila selama ini merasa kurang begitu dekat dengan keluarga anda karena aktifitas yang menyita waktu anda dengan keluarga. Dengan membawa keluarga ke pantai, sekedar bermain ski air, berperahu menyusuri pantai untuk menikmati pemandangan, atau menghabiskan hari bersama-sama di atas air dengan banana boat, adalah solusi yang tepat untuk mendapatkan kembali kehangatan keluarga anda.

• Peralatan keselamatan harus terpasang, seperti tabung pemadam kebakaran, smoke signal, life jacket dan sejenisnya.
• Pastikan jumlah life jacket mencukupi untuk semua orang plus 2 set sebagai cadangan.
• Radio VHF harus berfungsi dengan benar.
• Pastikan lampu navigasi berfungsi dengan baik.
• Tidak minum minuman berakohol dan sebaiknya tidak merokok apabila boat anda menggunakan jenis bahan bakar premium, seperti mesin outboard 4 tak
• Pasang bendera, dan bendera isyarat.
• Sebaiknya melapor terlebih dahulu pada kantor syahbandar.
• Dan yang terpeting dari itu semua adalah boat benar-benar dalam kondisi laik laut.

Pontoon Boating

Bagi mereka yang ingin boating menyusuri pantai Jakarta, sebaiknya anda harus menyewa seseorang yang bisa mengatasi sampah yang kadang menempel pada baling-baling, kalau motorboat kita outboard motor mungkin masih mudah diatasi tanpa harus menyelam, namun kalau motorboat kita tipe inboard motor maka harus menyelam untuk mengambil sampah yang terjerat pada baling, baling. Jadi jangan sekali-kali pakai motorboat dengan mesin waterjet pasti problem besar. Tak ada salahnya hal ini kita lakukan juga di pantai lainnya di wilayah Indonesia, karena pantai kita belum terbebas dari sampah.

Fast Trimaran Boat

Many kind boats that you can see at this time, there have only one hull, two hull (catamaran and has a three hull (trimaran), but the common and the most widely used is the type of monohull.

Whether it:  monohull, catamaran and trimaran, based on the shape of the hull under the water line, boats can be categories into three main types: displacement hull, planing hull and semi-displacement hull.

Displacement hull

Displacement hull: Boat displaces water equal to its total weight when the boat moves through the water. In an attempt to reduce frictional resistance and wave making resistance, the bottom has rounded and the hull under waterline often is given a streamline shape.

Displacemen Hull type

The displacement hull type is suitable for a low speed travelling. Power to drive the boat through the water relative small, smaller engines cost less to buy and maintain. Advantages of this type, the Boat tends to be comfortable at anchor, spending time to relax or fishing at the sea.

Most regular of displacement boats such as: Pedal Boats, Fishing boats, Work Boats, House Boats and so forth

Semi displacement hull/ Semi Planing

Semi-Displacement hull: hull is a design that attempts to combine some attributes of displacement hulls with some features of planing hulls.The lateral cross-sectional area under the water line of the hull is slightly decreased from midship to the rear end of a stern.

Semi Planing Hull type

This type is suitable for a medium speed range. The semi displacement boats have more comfortable in a sea as compared with the planing boats type hull, but less comfortable as compare with displacement boats. This type has stability better than displacement hull.
Most regular of semi-displacement boats such as: Pilots Boats, Power Boats, Fast Catamaran Boats and so forth

Planing Hull

Planing hull:  when the boat move through the water at high speeds, the hull will rise up over its bow-wave, so displaces water much less than weight of boat. The lateral cross-sectional area under the water line of the hull is maintained substantially constant from midship toward the end of the stern.
The planing hull boats are suitable for high speed travelling, and are not suitable if your cruising area is restricted to low speed operation. Planing hull boats are uncomfortable at anchor, because they rolling so quickly.

Planing Hull type

Planing boats have two popular terms: Moderate V and Deep V. These terms are meant to convey the amount of V at the transom and in addition to this they do express two different types of hull. Moderate V hull will have 15 to 19 degrees of V at the transom. Deep V hull will have 20 to 24 degrees of V at the transom. The degree of the angle of the V is called deadrise.
Most regular of Planing Boats such as: Jet Boats, Fast Patrol Boats, Sport Fishing Boats and so forth

Parameter

Speed / length ratio is one parameter that can be used as a consideration in choosing your type of hull that is suitable for you: :

• Displacement hull, a speed/length ratio is restricted to a range of below 1.4 = 1 kn/ft^1/2
• Semi-planing hull, a speed/length ratio a range between 1.4 to 2.0 = 1 kn/ft^1/2
• Planing hull, a speed/length ratio a range of above 2.0 = 1 kn/ft^1/2.

Considering each hull configuration in detail will reveal its benefits and disadvantages, your choice will be influenced by your intended usage and your money.

A boat is a small watercraft propelled by paddle, oars, sail or motor. Boats have length not more than 30 m. Materials: wood, Plywood, fiberglass, aluminum, steel and polyethylene.

Pedal Boat

Basically boats are categorized into 3 types: a human power boat, sailboat and motorboat.

Human Power Boat
Boats powered by human move a cross water using paddle or row. At this time this boats mostly used for water sports and recreationally, such as canoe, kayak, dragon boat, rowing boat and paddle boat.

Canoe: small and narrow boat, at the bow and stern have taper shape and open on top. Generally, this boat has a length not more than 7 meters and can carry up to 8 persons.

Kayak: this boat is not different with canoe, kayak shorter than canoe and has a covered deck, carry no more than 2 persons

Sail Boat

Dragon Boat: This boat is similar with canoe but longer than canoe and at the front decorated with dragon heads. Dragon boat can carry between 10 to 50 paddles. Dragon boat only needs to use water sports and the national community Tong hoe.

Sailboat
A boat powered by wind driven using sail called sailboat.
Sailboats have 2 types differs based on the amount of mast, single mast and two masts. Sailing boat mostly used for water sports and sailing boat racing event.

Single mast
Sailboats with a single mast have relatively small size between 16 feet to 80 feet. This type of boat among other sloop, cutter and catboat

Sloop: this boat has single mast and supported by two sails, headsail on the front and mainsail attach to the mast and the boom.

Cutter: almost the same with sloop, only the location of the mast further back and having two jibs as well as a mainsail.
Catboat: these boats have a one mast and supported with one or two sails but without the jib.

Two masts
Sailboats using the two masts generally have length above 40 feet and usually used to offshore voyaging, such as ketch, yawl and schooner.

Ketch: These boats have two mast, main mast and second mast called mizzen mast. Mizzen mast has a size shorter than the main mast, main mast mounted at the front and mizzen mast at behind located in the front of rudderpost.

Yawl: This boat is almost the same with the ketch, only the mizzen mast located after rudderpost.

Schooner: usually have two masts, but can have more, despite having more than two-mast, the main mast which has a larger size.

Catamaran-Motor Boat

Motor boat is a small watercraft powered by an internal-combustion or electric engine driven using propeller or impeller.

Motor boats driven using propeller have 3 types by the manner in which the engine is installed (power plan), the outboard motor, inboard motor and inboard-outboard motors (stern drive). Motor boats driven using impeller called jet boats. Jet Boats have 2 types differs by power plan: outboard motor and inboard motor.

Outboard Motor: the engine and propeller/impeller mounted outside on the back of the hull or transom.
Inboard Motor: the engine permanently mounted within the hull and, and propeller/ impeller passing through the hull.
Stern drive: the engine is contained inboard while the gear reduction and propeller are outside.

Hovercraft
Hovercraft or air cushion vehicle: a vehicle that can travel over land and water supported by a cushion of air that it creates by blowing air downward.

Small hovercraft are often used in physical activity,combustion, or passenger service, while giant hovercraft have been built for civilian and military applications to transport cars, tanks, and large equipment into difficult or hostile environments and terrain.

Airboat
An airboat is a flat-bottomed vessels propelled in a forward direction by an aircraft-type propeller and powered by either an aircraft or automotive engine. Airboats are a very popular in the Florida Everglades, and Louisiana Bayou, where they are used for fishing, hunting and eco-tourism.
